When Ethics and Morality Trumps Individualism

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them” Romans 1:18-19.

Mankind has always struggled with ethics and morality since we gained individualism in the Garden at the Fall of Adam. Its origin lies in the struggle between the unrighteousness of the flesh and the righteousness of the Holy Spirit. In this struggle the devil’s plan is to convince men that the spiritual world and God’s existence are not of any importance but rather just a crutch upon which men lean in order to justify their psychological guilt concerning things in this life. This is the great deception!

The deception is a spiritual weapon the adversary uses to turn men’s thinking in other directions when seeking truth. It is of great convenience for men to turn to science for the answer’s they seek while ignoring the truth of the Living God. Even in these actions, mankind has an internal system of ethics and morality that govern their thought process. The great debate lies in where these processes have originated and developed in the mind of men. Science proclaims an evolutionary development over millions of years has brought about the ethics and morality in us while justifying that the evolutionary process, in theory, believes mankind will continually evolve into higher intellectual beings.

This type of developmental belief gives the individual the avenue to pursue their own desires without regard to the establishment of God’s laws and His redemptive act in the life of Jesus Christ. In their world, the higher power is no longer an eternal God who sets the standards of ethics and morality but rather they have become the god of their own life. They are in complete individualism. Whether knowing it willingly or not, they have adopted as their creed the same attitude and desire as Satan; “I will ascend in heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit on the mount of the assembly in the recesses of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High” [Isaiah 14:13-14].

Their thought process becomes enveloped in a system of situational ethics. There is no constant moral bar or ethical plum line that establishes God’s truth even though it is in them to know God. They sever their consciences to the Laws of God and put in its place their own justifications for their actions. “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations [science], and their foolish heart was darkened” [Romans 1:20-21].

Placing their false ideologies in several categories of individualism that defy the Laws of God we can see that they are without excuse to God’s eternal order of holiness. Consider the following:

Abortion— God’s Law: “There are six things which the Lord hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him…hands that shed innocent blood” Proverbs 6:16-17. In this case, God’s Law sets the standard of ethics and morality.

Individualism states: Their body takes precedent over the Law of God. This is rebellion which is derived from a witchcraft spirit. It is the epitome of evil! It is derived from a mind of depravity and deception.

HomosexualityGod’s Law: “…and they exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator…for this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error” [Romans 1:23-27]. This lifestyle in God’s eyes is idolatry and stems from a witchcraft spirit of rebellion to God.

Individualism states: From the standpoint of scientific study, there is theory [not evidence] that a genetic footprint shows this lifestyle to be developed from birth. So deceived is society on homosexuality that it has placed political activism above God’s law to give this deviant lifestyle civil rights. The movement has grown to extend to transgenderism, lesbianism, and various deviations of this life. It is protected by ungodly laws and deceived leaders who have ignored God’s truth and placed unrighteousness at the forefront of all other things concerning God’s word. This deception will continue to move into other deviant lifestyles that are already knocking at the door of America’s psyche such as, pedophilia, bestiality, and the like.

We have already experienced movements of picking our own gender, sex change operations, and gay marriages that are now civil law in direct defiance to God’s moral and ethical commandments. The deception is on such a grand scale that the devil has succeeded in getting these ungodly beliefs to enter the mainstream of church thought. We have become like the Laodicean Church in Revelation, lukewarm and without conviction.

The Lord is going to clean the house!

There was a Messianic purpose in Jesus overturning the money-changer tables in the Temple [Matt. 21:12-13]. His statement that “It is written, “My house shall be called a house of prayer”; but you are making it a robbers den” v13. The temple location has been moved into our bodies at the day of Pentecost, “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you [Pentecost], whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?” [1 Cor. 6:19].

Christians who walk in individualism are denying the work of the cross and the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in them. The Lord will cleanse His temple [you are not your own] and His holiness in the lives of the Church will abound. It is our responsibility as men and women of God to walk in a manner worthy of this act; “Be ye holy, as I am holy! [Leviticus 19:2].

We must put our best Spirit filled lives forward in demonstrating to the woke culture of individualism that Jesus is the answer to societies woes. The change that must take place is not a woke culture in our society but a change in the heart of mankind that only comes through the Lord Jesus Christ.

The ethics and morality of God will always trump individualism no matter how hard the devil uses evil men to push against it. In response, the church cannot be lulled into a sleepy stupor and become complacent in our testimony of the power of Jesus Christ to change people’s lives. Eternity is at stake in the lives of the lost and it is still God’s commandment that we, the church, preach the gospel to a lost and dying world [Matt. 28:19-20].

Apostle/Prophet

The Season of Prophetic Proclamations!

Releasing God’s Prophetic Office

1 Kings 17:3-16

Releasing the Miraculous

Elijah’s bold faith and strong prophetic anointing unleashed the power of the Living God to the nation of Israel in a single day. At one particular moment in Israel’s history the power of the Prophet entered their atmosphere. The Prophet came with a purpose, with instruction, and with demonstrated power in order to establish the kingdom of God and fulfill God’s prophetic promises to His people and to the world.

“And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near; and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that Thou art God in Israel, and that I am Thy servant, and that I have done all these things at Thy word. Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that Thou art the Lord God, and that Thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, He is the God; the Lord, He is the God” [1 Kings 18:36-29].

The Prophetic Office is not without controversy and it is in tumultuous times that the Lord, with a purpose, sends the controversial prophetic anointing into the midst of His Church. Its purpose is to expose the religious [Pharisaical] spirit, to tear down false idols, ideas, and preconceived concepts of the kingdom of God.

Miraculous Expectation

The Prophetic Office declares and proclaims the anointing of the miraculous into the assembly with displayed power and the established glory of God. We have entered into such a season of the manifestation of the miraculous. We are a supernatural people called to supernatural power. The prophetic anointing in this season is here to break-up fallow ground and to declare a seed-faith promise in order for the harvest-to-come to be declared the greatest of its generation.

As the prophets of God begin to proclaim the death of the religious spirit in the days ahead the church must be prepared to accept a flow of the miraculous in their houses. When Elijah called down the fire of God from heaven the prophets of Baal were destroyed, and the nation of Israel experienced national revival. God is instructing the prophets to declare the falling down of His fire in preparation of the great revival events that are unfolding in these last days.

A Season of Increase and Provision

Many will see the title above and believe the season of increase and provision to be financial, as though it were a prosperity message. The Lord is declaring a season of soul-harvest. The Word of God preached through the means of the Gospel message will bring an increase of salvation to the house of God. There can be no greater cause in the kingdom of God in these last days except we experience the soul-salvation, backsliders returning to the house of God, and an increase in the manifestation gifts among us.

God spoke to Elijah in 1 Kings 17 to sit by the brook Cherith [1 Kings 17:3]. He was obedient to the God’s prophetic word and the Lord tended to Him there. However, the brook dried up and his provisions ran out since the ravens stopped bringing him meat to eat. For some, this prophetic word at its inception would have been the revelation they believed to have been seeking concerning God’s move in their lives and ministries. Once the brook dried up and the ravens no longer fed them, they would still have stayed at that place and made adjustments because they believe they were given God’s timely word never realizing that the Lord never stands still, and His prophetic declarations are ever in motion. Most prophetic people would have rested on the first word; “Go to the brook Cherith, east of the Jordan.”

However, a second more powerful word was released prophetically to Elijah; “Go to Zarephath, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” [17:9]. The first word was given in order for Elijah to make preparation to demonstrate the miraculous that was birthed out of the second word: “So he arose and went to Zarephath, and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks; and he called to her and said, “Please get me a little water in a jar that I may drink.” And as she was getting it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a piece of bread in your hand.” But she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have no bread, only a handful of flour in the bowl and a little oil in the jar; and behold I am gathering a few sticks that I may go in and prepare for me and my son, that we may eat it and die.”

God’s commandment and the widow’s death proclamation

When Elijah approached the widow in Zarephath, she did not proclaim to him her expectation of his coming based on God’s word to Elijah that He had commanded her to attend to him. This command was a supernatural releasing of God’s will in the spirit and no natural command by audible voice was necessary. The Lord established His will in this woman without any natural verbal communique. She would obey God’s command based solely on the unction that God had placed in her heart. She had a predetermined will to be obedient to the prophet and to his declarations. Her faith in the Lord allowed her to walk into the unknown.

When prophetic people approach the kingdom of God in this way, whether temporal or spiritual, there is a releasing of supernatural power into the atmosphere and the miraculous is unleashed. The woman made a declaration to the prophet that was intended to reveal her distress. The Prophet had the word of the Lord and proceeded with the God’s declaration to bless this woman due to the obedience of her faith in responding to the man of God. She was about to experience a supernatural event, a God event, that would change her life. It is at this moment in the spirit when we are proclaiming our death, that God shows up and brings about His established will for us; a multiplication of provision and anointing declaring life.

The Second word to Elijah reaps great reward

Elijah’s obedience to God’s prophetic word, “Go to Zarephath,” brought supernatural blessing and provision into the life of the widow woman. It is not always the FIRST word of the Lord that establishes great blessing but the SECOND!

“Then Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go, do as you have said, but make me a little bread cake from it first and bring it out to me, and afterward you may make one for yourself and for your son. For thus says the Lord God of Israel, ‘The bowl of flour shall not be exhausted, nor shall the jar of oil be emptied, until the day the Lord sends rain on the face of the earth” [1 Kings 17:13-14]. This miraculous release was birthed from Elijah’s obedience to the second word given to him to “Go to Zarephath.”

The Power of the Prophetic

“True prophetic ministry holds great power and can override natural law. God’s spoken word releases faith and power. Prophetic ministry will sometimes declare things so contrary to the natural circumstance that the only people who can agree with it are those who are deeply planted in the Spirit.” Releasing the Prophetic, Dr. Ryan LeStrange.

Dr. LeStrange makes a powerful statement in this decree. The church has settled into a religious ritual of traditional operation. In doing so, it has failed to give release to the gifts that the Lord has placed in its midst; the power of the prophetic office [Eph. 4:11]. The miracle of 1 Kings 17 was born from the Prophet’s willingness to obey God and proclaim His word to the widow woman. It was fulfilled in the widow woman’s willingness to accept the word and take it unto herself. If the widow woman had ignored the Prophet’s proclamation to her, the anointing would have left and the provision dried up, withered, and died along with her and her son. Her disobedience to not respond to the prophet’s utterance would have given power to her death declaration. Instead, her obedience and agreement to it, administered a miraculous event and released life into her situation. It changed her circumstances!

God has placed us in this season! Come expecting and walk in the anointing.

Out of Egypt Comes Great Blessing!

The Steadfastness of God’s Covenant Promise…

“Out of Egypt I called My Son” Hosea 11:1

As a youth Jesus was exiled into Egypt to avoid Herod’s assassins and the devil’s plan to eliminate Him from the face of the earth. It was not the first time in biblical history that we have read of similar plots against the covenant will of God toward His people and the giving of His gift of salvation to the peoples of the earth. Pharaoh commanded a similar event in Egypt at the birth of Moses, to kill every male Hebrew child from birth to 2 years of age simply to kill the prophecy that a savior would arise among the Hebrew people and set them free from the bondage of slavery. Just as Moses was pulled from the river Nile and saved so was Jesus successful in fleeing to Egypt until the death of Herod.

What was meant for evil, God turns to good!

In the course of the history of God’s people, we read of the many trials and tribulations that the Lord allowed us to experience. Some of these trials were because of the sin we held dearly twithout a heart of repentance. Some of these trials were just the attacks of the enemy of our souls who is in a constant state of warfare against the people of God. Some of these trials come to us because we live in a fallen world and are anxiously awaiting the Second Advent of Christ. And for others, they are in a constant state of pain and sin because they refuse to deal with the past and take authority through Christ the vain imaginations that attack them.

Even in all of these scenarios, the Lord brings power, revival, and blessing. Out of Egypt comes great blessing! Jesus lived in Egypt for 12 years for the purpose of finally being able to dwell in His Father’s land and preach the Good News of His coming. The answer to remove our condemnation of sin had come to an end. Our guilt was washed in the blood sacrifice of Christ. He confirmed it with His last statement on the cross, “It is Finished!” [John 19:28-30]. In the midst of our trials the Lord makes a way for our redemption. He brings revival to the situation and gives life where there was no hope.

In the days of Nebuchadnezzar when all hope for the Hebrew people seemed hopeless, God brought the prophet [seer] Daniel to the nation. His desire to serve the Lord proved to be a revelation to his people. He prophesied of Israel’s redemption, of their restoration of the temple worship, and of the coming Messiah. He lived to see the miracles of God performed in the midst of their bondage. He kept the feasts and the Law of Moses alive among his people honoring God and paying homage to Him. In return, the Lord honored His covenant promise and spoke of the seasons that would transpire before the appearing of the Ancient of Days. God always gives hope to His people even in their most trying moments. He shows us that we should expect seasons of miracles and supernatural wonders coming even in the midst of dark times.

Recent events in American history

The coming leadership of America is going to lead us into dark times. Weak leadership historically does. As the persecution of the church begins, the Lord has given us some beacons of hope to minimize the coming onslaught; the Supreme Court. However in spite of this several things will take place in the next four years that will change the course of American history as never before:

  • The coming administration will try and manipulate the outcome of the Supreme Court by packing the court with more ungodly Justices.
  • The coming administration will open our borders to illegals in record numbers bringing unprecedented crime.
  • The deficit will climb proportionately with the unrighteousness of the administration.
  • The church will be asked to compromise the Word of God by toning down the rhetoric on sin.
  • The first woman President of the United States will enter the arena pushing the Jezebel agenda of the church’s greatest enemy.
  • A deceptive spirit will continue to increase across the land and harden the hearts of the nation’s leadership just as in the days of Pharaoh and Moses.
  • Free speech will be attacked by those who disagree with the agenda of the political left.
  • The educational system will be used to continue an indoctrination of the next generation of Americans.
  • Christianity will be considered a judgmental outdated way of life.

God’s Response

The Lord never sits on His hands or stays silent even in the midst of pagan attacks and persecution. His plan will be revealed, and His Second Advent is imminent. We need to ready ourselves for the following God events:

  • An outpouring of supernatural events.
  • Increased angelic visitation.
  • Miracles, signs, and wonders.
  • The Gospel message preached in greater conviction and expediency.
  • Salvation, baptisms, and anointed Holy Spirit revivals.
  • The next great harvest coming upon the land.
  • It will be a world event.

Out of Egypt comes great blessing!

The history of the Church proves that the Lord moves in His people even when the world has set its sights on its destruction. No political system, no amount of persecution, and no determination by the evil one to destroy God’s people will prevent the will of God to bring the redemptive power of the Holy Spirit to the world through the Gospel of Jesus Christ [John 14:26].

Stand fast in His promises. Set your sights on the coming Advent of Christ and get busy with the things of God. Preach the Word, lay hands on the sick, feed the homeless, and bring the life of Christ to a lost and dying generation.

Jezebel’s Modus Operandi

The politics of false accusation and the destruction of reputation

“…and seat tow worthless men before him, and let them testify against him…”

1 Kings 21:10.

In 1 Kings 21 we read the story of Naboth’s Vineyard. This piece of property was located outside the walls of the palace in Jezreel. King Ahab sets his sights on owning this property because of the beauty Naboth had created in maintaining it. In approaching Naboth and wanting to make a trade of property, Ahab was reminded of the Law of Moses that forbid an Israelite to give up their inheritance. This property was the inheritance of Naboth. Returning to his chamber and sulking over the rejection of his offer, Ahab’s wife Jezebel inquired of him as to the nature of his sorrow. Discovering that it was Naboth’s rejection of his proposal to transfer property rights to Ahab, Jezebel set out to destroy Naboth, a righteous man with a reputation of high integrity. In setting her trap she bribed two men [the law says any two witnesses against you can condemn you—Deuteronomy 17:6] to falsely accuse Naboth of a high crime and misdemeanor against God. The crime would be blasphemy. The penalty was death by stoning.

Current Events

In recent days we have witnessed the actions of the Jezebel spirit in our nation’s capital. The false accusations presented by the US Congress concerning the President of the United States to incite insurgency and revolution. No trial, no investigation, and no opportunity to defend himself which is the basic rights of all US citizens in accordance with the US Constitution. The President was never given his day in court. This is a basic right that every American would expect. This whole action reeks of Jezebel!

This spirit is wholly set on destroying the United States as we know it. This spirit is hell-bent on silencing the church and the evangelistic measures the church takes to spread the gospel throughout the world. Why? Because this President, President Donald J. Trump, has been the most pro-Judeo-Christian President in modern history. False accusations and destruction of reputation is the order of the day with this demon from hell.

The evidence does not bear out to the truth of the reasons for his impeachment. Evidence shows that he never called for rioting, as Democrats have done in Portland, Minneapolis, New York City, and other parts of the country. Evidence shows that BLMers and antifa terrorists disguised and Trump supporters stormed the Capital Building and the Senate and Congressional chambers. The FBI just recently arrested one of the BLM antagonists partly responsible for this whole debacle. Evidence shows that this was planned weeks in advance, and it is thought that some government officials were aware of the planning.

In Naboth’s situation, Jezebel planned a party of deception in order to trap Naboth and bring false accusation against him. Jezebel’s modus operandi has not changed in 2,000 years. This is her sting; false accusations and damaged reputations. Her purpose is to rob the church of its inheritance as she did with Naboth.

Naboth is symbolic of Jezebel’s PLANNED attack on the Presidency. A lying and deceptive spirit has infiltrated the hearts of many in Congress and their ire is beyond reason. They are so hellbent on destroying America’s great institution, the Presidency, solely because Trump is the holder of the office. They have used every lie that hell can muster in order to take him down. Instead of reason, they have given way to emotions. They do it in the name of democracy, “Save the Republic” is their cry, in what they believe to be the true American way. It is all a sham! “Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead!” They are clamoring for power plain and simple not realizing that they are under a deluding spirit working with the plans of Jezebel. They do not have the eyes to see nor the ears to hear what the Lord is saying in the midst of these unfolding events. And the world is watching, and Israel is waiting because the rise or fall of the Jewish state is dependent in part on what transpires in America. The missionaries around the world are dependent upon the spiritual condition of the American church. If we fail them, then we will see a greater outpouring of Christian persecution as never before.

The Lord has a game plan

“While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape” 1 Thes. 5:3.

Jesus told his disciples in Matthew 28:18, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” God’s will has been accomplished through the work of Jesus Christ. The church will reign with Him in eternity. Whatever persecution Jezebel can muster toward the bells of freedom and the sons of liberty, whatever damage she believes she can do to the reputation of the righteous, and whatever lying accusations she can wield against the office of God’s chosen man cannot be crushed. The Lord has established His kingdom wherever the church walks, and the church walks the length, the breadth, and width of America. In a common cause we are One with the Father and His words to the unrighteous will ring throughout all eternity. “Then He will say to those on the left*, “Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels…” Matthew 25:41.

*Note: The use of the word “Left” is not an indication of a political belief. In Hebrew tradition, turning to the left, sitting at the left, etc. is an indication of straying from the truth. It is a turning away from righteousness and those who placed themselves their walk-in sinfulness. Whereas those who are at the right walk in the favor of the Lord.

In the days to come, the remnant of true believers will bring about a revival and reaping of the harvest that has not been seen since the events of the Great Awakening. America will have a bright hope and future based on the church’s obedience to the gospel and its commitment to the Great Commission of Matt. 28.

The Cancel Culture

And The Rising of His Remnant

“You have meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive” Gen. 50:20.

The aforementioned scripture speaks specifically to the sons of Jacob by their brother Joseph after they sojourned to Egypt because of the drought in Canaan. It demonstrates the mercy of God upon His people that Joseph having been given up for dead by His father Jacob because of the lie told to him by his other sons after they sold him into slavery reveals eternal plan of God.

Throughout the history of God’s people, the Lord brought about circumstances in the lives of the Israelites that was determined by their enemies. The sinfulness in the land and in the Israelite culture opened the doors to spiritual attacks that affected them in the natural by way of defeat and enslavement. In many cases, the Israelites were removed from their homeland and brought into foreign lands in order to be assimilated into pagan culture. However, even in the midst of turmoil and the determined destruction of their culture and inheritance by their enemies there always remained a remnant that never caved to the onslaughts of the enemies of God and His people. This remnant remained faithful to the cause of God, to His Word, and to the feasts He commanded them to celebrate. As much as, the result of these defeats and diaspora acts were a travesty to the Jewish people, the Lord purposed to keep His covenant alive and active in their lives.

The Pride of Life

To the nation of Israel, the temple worship with its sacrifices and offerings to the Lord was a pride of their culture and daily life. To practice the continual Law of Moses meant a life of righteousness and prosperity and was a constant reminder to them that God was the author of their salvation and the lifter of their heads. The very heart of the Jewish life was to be a shining light upon a dark world. Israel was the chosen nation of God and they were His people. The whole of their existence was to bring witness of the greatness of God and His mercy upon a sinful world. The Gentile nations, deep in pagan culture and the evils of the enemies of God, were a lost and dying people. The Lord chose Israel to be an example of God’s hope to a dying world. Israel’s purpose was to show the darkness of the Gentile world that there was a way to eternal salvation and that the Messiah, Savior to the whole world, rested in their culture and way of life.

Prevailing Covenants

Even though the nation of Israel was judged because of having turned throughout history from the ways of God, the Lord would never break from His covenant promise to them. The covenants were living and active movements in the heart of God toward His people. They were not subjected to just one place, one time, or one temple made of brick and mortar. Wherever God’s people dwell so did His covenant promise to them. He rested His law in their hearts.

In the great dispersion of the Jewish people when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon laid waste to Jerusalem and exiled God’s people to Babylon [2 Kings 24:14], the purpose of God was not to end His covenants or destroy His promise to Israel. He was committed to bringing about His established will in their lives while showing His mercy to the Gentile nations. Out of the Jewish exile to Babylon came the powerful prophecy of Daniel, the fourth man in the fire that saved Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, the Lord dealing with Nebuchadnezzar to show him who had absolute power in the world. And out of Babylon, the Lord prophecies to His people of the coming Messiah and the salvation of the whole world. What Nebuchadnezzar meant for evil, the Lord turned to good. The desire in the heart of the Babylon king to make the whole world Babylonian, worshiping their false gods, and assimilating into Babylonian culture, the Lord kept His remnant alive and thriving in that pagan culture.

The Cancel Culture of the 21st c.

History repeats itself but the Lord remains steadfast. In our society of the 21st c. the pagan culture is disguised in the name of many different ideologies [i.e., intellectualism, enlightenment, racism, white privilege, Antifa, BLMers, LGBTQ, the woke left movement, and the like] to destroy the message of the Gospel and indeed biblical Christianity. It is the antichrist spirit even from the time of Nebuchadnezzar. In the natural, it is the erasing of history, the changing of language definition, and intolerance to any resistance. The Cancel Culture movement arms themselves through political, economic [the green deal], socialist values, and judicial activism. Spiritually, it is the activity of the antichrist spirit that was alive in the days of the exiled Jewish people through the works of Nebuchadnezzar. The Cancel Culture movement is determined to erase traditional Judaeo-Christian values from the face of the earth. They are using any means necessary.

The Steadfastness of the Remnant

Just as the Israelites kept the covenant promises of God alive during the exiled days of Nebuchadnezzar, so will the Church continue to honor the covenants, worship the Lord by His Holy Spirit, and keep the Gospel active in ministering to this lost and dying generation. No matter what the antichrist has planned in the days to come, the victory is still the exclusive right of the Church [John 19:30, “It is Finished!”].

Press In!

We must continue to do the following things in order to hold back the forces of darkness and usher in the next great harvest:

  • Preach the Gospel.
  • Press in against the wiles of the enemy.
  • Pray for the sick.
  • Feed the homeless.
  • Take care of widows.
  • Baptize those who have come to Christ.
  • Adhere to righteousness and pursue holiness.

2021: The Pursuit of Holiness- Lord, Send Me!

https://i.pinimg.com/236x/1d/75/b8/1d75b860eda578edbac95cdae9874df0.jpg

“Then I said, here am I. Send Me!” Isaiah 6:8

The year 2021 will see an increased desire to know God and pursue His Holiness. Our pursuit of Holiness rests in the covenant promises of God. When you walk in the likeness of Christ through having come to a born-again life our actions in Him will always in covenant authority cause holiness to reign in our lives. In asking God to send you is an accepted commitment to the covenant life. It begins your journey to holiness.

Being sent is not the beginning of God’s calling in our lives it is the result of His work in our lives from the beginning of our life. We are called from the foundation of the world. We are on His mind in all aspects of His kingdom purpose. He prophesies to Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah reveals to us that our being sent and our asking to be sent [for the sake of the gospel] begins not at our asking but even before our conception in the womb. Asking to be sent confirms you have been chosen. It is a holy convocation!

His Calling secures our inheritance

Holiness sits at the center of God’s promised covenant to establish His inheritance in our lives and in our offspring. By establishing a holy life, we produce a generation of righteousness in our lifeline. The response “Here I am” further connects the Abrahamic covenant with our prophetic nature in responding in the same way to our calling [Isa. 6:8]. Just as the Abrahamic covenant sets the stage for Isaac and Jacob leading into the establishment of the twelve tribes of Israel, we are grafted into this holy convocation of Christ’s eternal work at the cross [Gal. 3:29]. Our pursuit of holiness rests in the work of Jesus and our desire to become more like Him. The covenant plays a significant role in this process.

Believers must not be misled to think that all the spiritual works towards holiness are filled with joy and happiness; nor should they think that once there is a burden of life that they have lost their spiritual experience. At times, it is very unfortunate that believers do not realize that the burden in the Spirit is the source of real spiritual work and it enhances the absolute power of the cross.

Where can we go, Lord?

In John 6:68, the Lord questions the disciples about leaving Him as others have because of the hard words He spoke to them. It was in the discourse of the Son of Man in John 6:55 Jesus said these words, “For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.” Many believed Him to be speaking of cannibalism which was a vulgarity to them. Yet, He was speaking about the spiritual aspects of His office. After this statement many of those who followed Him left Him. In so doing, He turned to His disciples and asked: “You do not want to go away also, do you?” v67. Peter wasted no time in responding with a resounding revelation: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life” v.68.

The Apostle Peter’s revelation of Jesus having words of eternal life are revealed to Him by the Spirit of God [Matt. 16:16]. In Peter’s resolve to stay loyal to our Lord through the Spirit’s inspired actions to open an understanding to Peter the true revelation of the office of the Christ, holiness and God’s eternal glory have encompassed the heart of the apostle. The greatest revelation is that he knows Jesus to be the Christ, the greater revelation is that he speaks for all the disciples. Notice in John 6:68 he did not say “Where can I go, Lord?” Instead, he invokes a plural pronoun saying, “Lord, to whom shall WE go?”

In seeking holiness there are two aspects of attaining this attribute of our Lord; 1- Peter’s statement [“Lord, to whom shall we go?” v68] and 2- Isaiah’s prophecy [“Lord, Send Me!” Is. 6:8]. Each of these testaments have an individual confession and the greater acknowledgement of the call on the church. He stirs both of these revelations in us and then puts action to them by sending us individually and corporately.

Only the holy are sent!

This is a hard statement since most of the church would believe they are not qualified. They would be correct in stating that no one is qualified in holy living of their own power by the will of their flesh. However, we are in Christ and hidden in Him until the last day [Col. 3:3]. Therefore, it is not we who live in holiness by our own volition but rather we are holy because He lives in us by His Holy Spirit. To understand this, we must come to the knowledge that we are sent and commissioned to bring the gospel to the world because the Holy Spirit in us compels us to. We are sent because we are holy in Him.

In Hebrews 12:25-29 the writer of this letter describes God as a consuming fire. In this description is a statement of truth that requires our response: “See that you refuse not Him that speaks…” v25. In our sending is the understanding that there must first be a calling and in that calling God speaks. Our refusal to respond to this call is a denial to the pursuit of holiness. Because God is a consuming fire the ways of the world wane in the presence of holiness. His consuming fire results in a holy life. He burns away all impurities and sets our feet on the road of righteousness. Any refusal to His sending would be a denial of the very work of the cross of Christ in our lives.

An Unshaken Kingdom

The pursuit of holiness when He calls and our response is Lord, send me, places us in alliance with an unshaken kingdom that has established salvation down through the ages witnessed by the Law and the prophets.  There are several aspects of being sent that are foundations of His unshaken kingdom.

  • He warns from Heaven [v.26]—His decrees that are sent forth from heaven to earth represent the cornerstone of the foundation of His kingdom. They are constant, never shaken, never moved, or unyielding in purpose.
  • He removes what can be shaken [v. 27]—this is the removing of temporal created things. The shaken will be taken away and only the spiritual will remain. Our sending is a spiritual event moving in a temporal world.
  • What cannot be shaken will remain [v. 27]—the things of the Spirit cannot be moved and will remain even in the midst of His consuming fire. In His calling we hear His voice. Our response to this call is to be sent. In that sending is a spiritual event that can never be shaken. The work of the kingdom remains.
  • Receiving an unshakable kingdom yields our acceptable service v. 28]—It is a humbling experience to accept the call of God. We must approach it with reverence and awe showing our gratitude to be in His service.
  • He is a consuming fire [v. 29]—Leviticus describes the holy fire that burns at all times at the altar [cross]. “The fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it. It shall not go out…” [Lev. 6:12].

All of the listed aspects of an unshaken kingdom, the kingdom of God, come into play when we say “Lord, send me.” We have, in the Spirit, become transfigured into the image of our Lord; our mindset, our intent, and our disposition all come into a new understanding of the kingdom.

The Duality of the Christian life

When we ask God to send us in His name for the purpose of the gospel and the promotion of the kingdom of God through the salvation of souls, we encounter a duality of the realism of life. On the one hand, all of us as Christians have stood before the experience of Sinai; having met God through the cross of Christ and taking His Law into our hearts; and on the other, many of us will never stand before Zion because we have rejected the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the power thereof.

In chapter two, I addressed the differences between a Sinai and a Zion experience. The consuming fire of God is consistent with the Zion experience. It is our Pentecost. The Zion experience brings greater privileges with greater responsibility. To be sent and to dwell in Zion is a denying of the life of flesh and a promoting of the Spirit within us. Neglecting to live our lives in the Zion experience inhibits our ability to greater victory, prosperity, and blessing. You cannot live a fulfilled walk in this life without the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Being sent demonstrates a life of spiritual power.

The scripture in Hebrews 12:25 tells us that if we refuse Him in our calling and reject the warning He has given from heaven to the earth, how much more shall we escape the pending judgment? If we refuse His call [v25] after having been warned by the prophets who walked the earth, how much more will we escape when the calling has come down from heaven with more authority and greater power [v25]?

Our constant focus in seeking holiness as we are answering the call of God in our lives is to remain at the foot of Zion. It is the city of our great King. “Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King” Psalm 48:1-2. This scripture speaks to the greatness of God and how He should be praised in the mountain of His holiness. To dwell on the sides of the north, the city of our great King is to walk in the power of His Spirit, to stay in His manifest anointing, and to reap the presence of His glory. There can be on other way. He is our all in all, our soon coming King, and our righteousness.

Mt. Zion is the representation of the kingdom of God within you. The kingdom that cannot be shaken. The kingdom that will always remain and never cease. The kingdom that is great in beauty, joy, and eternal peace. Therefore, our cry “Lord, send me!” is a cry of liberty and freedom. It is a fulfillment of His eternal order in our lives.  In a plain reading of Hebrews 12:22-23, this passage explains that the followers of Christ now dwell on the true Mt. Zion pointing not to itself but to the city that God would build through His Son. It exists now in the heavenly realm to be manifested historically on earth, not because it is a dualistic entity of the spiritual and the earthly but because it is a city of historical progression. For “we do not see everything in subjection to Christ” Hebrews 2:8, yet we will see this because what has been inaugurated in the heavens will be consummated on earth.

Causes and Effects

There is a spiritual principle in the Scriptures of causes and effects. What is caused in heaven is affected upon the earth. The Genesis account of creation is a great example of how things are developed in the heavenly realm and then manifested in the world. “The Lord said, “Let there be Light, and there was light” Gen. 1:3. The Lord in heaven speaks to the earth and it obeys.

When the Israelites gathered at the foot of Mt. Sinai, they were presented with a great cause that was born of heaven. The Lord entered into a spiritual covenant with them as a people and gave them the power of His will to walk as His people and to be a witness to the nations. Their understanding of this was demonstrated in God’s Law. The heavens broke threw the atmosphere and by the power of God caused the Word of God [His Ten Commandments] to be written for the nation of Israel to effectively change the world. In Exodus 20 the Lord establishes the propensity of His covenant with the Jewish people.

A major aspect of the cause/effects principle rests in the belief that true followers of Christ now dwell on the true Mount Zion, not a spiritualized noumenal one. This is because earthly Zion pointed not to itself but to the city that God would build through His Son. It exists now in the heavenly realm to be manifested historically on earth, not because it is a dualistic entity of the spiritual and the earthly but because it is a city of historical progression. For “we do not yet see everything in subjection to [Christ]” (Heb. 2:8), yet we will see this because what has been inaugurated in the heavens will be consummated on earth.

The Fullness of Faith

Even in our being sent we must still draw nearer to Him. Hebrews 10:22, “Let us draw near, in fullness of faith.” It is our full assurance of faith that is significant in our sending. The full assurance of faith refers only to the strength and confidence with which we believe. The truth we accept may be limited and defective, and our assurance of it may be more an undoubting conviction of the mind than the living apprehension of the heart. In both respects the fullness of faith expresses what we need—a faith that takes in objectively all that God offers in it its fullness, and subjectively all the powers of our heart and life in their fullness. Let us draw near is the establishment of holiness. The closer we come near to Him the greater the holiness of His Spirit falls upon us. The drawing near increases the effectiveness of the gifts of the Spirit in our sending.  Our spiritual man comes alive with the authority of the King of Kings, the Lord of all creation, to witness the great testimony of His life ensuring salvation to all who would come to Him through our sending.

Holy Fire!

Holy Spirit Flame Clipart - Clipart Kid | Holy spirit dove, Holy spirit tattoo, Holy spirit art

“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar, it shall never go out.” -Leviticus 6:13

The days are upon the church that has seen the Lord bring a supernatural anointing as never seen before. The Lord’s promise to us is that the altar shall never be without the fire of the Holy Spirit. It does not matter our circumstance and even if our situation looks bleak-the fire burns! Our power is established in the work of the cross. It is an eternal work that yields a great harvest and gives us the power to experience the presence of the Lord in our daily lives. David said it best when he penned these words, “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.” -Psalm 122:1. There is no greater thing that we can do except to remain in His presence, to worship Him, to walk in His kingdom promises, and to sustain the fires of a burning gospel within the hearts of the church. The fire remains burning and still in order for us to experience this anointing in our life we must maintain the Lord’s command to Aaron when placing our offering upon this holy fire.

1- The offering must remain burning through the night [Lev. 6:9]- the description of the night in this instance may have been a time continuum in Leviticus 6. However, in this present age it is a season of Holy Spirit anointing to yield a harvest in the church in order to win souls for Christ. There has been a releasing of evangelical power on the land and in the nations. The Gospel gives hope when the dark powers of the world are seeking to destroy every remnant of the Christian life. We know the night represents darkness. We are in dark times with riots in our streets, an epidemic that seeks to destroy our way of life, our history being erased before us, and many of us believing there is no end to these planned strategies of the enemy. Yet, in our weakness He is strong. In our despair He gives hope. The fire will never burn out!

2-Put on robes of righteousness [Lev. 6:10]- Our identity is in Christ. He has removed the filthy rags of our sinful lives and given us His Spirit. We are hidden in Him and we no longer live but He lives in us. In so doing, we have the power of the cross, the manifestation of Pentecost, and the favor of God in being called sons of God because Jesus paid the price. He has given us authority to tred upon scorpions and to place the demonic forces of this world’s present darkness under our feet. We must not hide our righteousness but rather proudly display it to a dying world. It is the lamp unto our feet and the light that shines in the darkness. When we display the light of the righteousness of Christ it draws men unto Him. Our linen robes represent the ever-present power of God upon the earth.

3-The imposition of our ashes [Lev. 6:10]- This is a reminder of our death. It is a symbol of sorrow for our sins. The ashes represent both repentance and mourning for our sins. The Lord commands that the ashes be removed from the altar and be taken to a clean place outside the camp. The inference to this passage is clear. No sin is to remain in the temple. Once it is placed at the altar and the offering is consumed so our sins must be removed from God’s holy place. When He washes us clean from our sinful ways, we are no longer to have sin remaining in our bodies [the temple of God]. This also represents an administration of the gospel message. He consumes our sins and destroys their yoke. Bringing the ashes outside of the temple is two-fold: 1-Our bodies become the righteousness of Christ-the temple remains pure; and 2- The world must witness the results of the consummation of our sin turned into ashes and no longer having power over us. We are changed because of Him!

4-The changing of garments[Lev. 6:11]- The Lord commands a changing of garments when bringing our absolved sin outside the temple. In the presence of God we are transformed and seen before His throne in white linen garments of righteousness. It is the presence of God that clothes us in the power of His glory. These are garments of praise that represent His manifestation. The changing into other garments and removing the ashes of our sin to a clean place represents the work of the ministry to present the gospel to a lost and dying world. A world that cannot comprehend God’s glory. The world comes to Christ through the hearing of the word but we enter into God’s presence through the manifestation of His anointing.

5-The wood is our salvation [Lev.6:12]- God commands that wood be placed upon the alter every morning. Noah’s Ark, the Ark of the Covenant, and the cross of Christ are both wrapped in the symbolism of wood. This wood represents our salvation and the humanity of Jesus. In God’s infinite wisdom this is a representation of bad being turned into good. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies are new every morning. We must present ourselves to Him daily at the altar. It is the very fuel that keeps the promise of the fire burning.

Every aspect of our Christian walk is motivated by the prophetic anointing of the Living God. Let us therefore endeavor to remain faithful in our pursuit of Holy Fire!

Choose Your Battlefield

When I go out, I want to go out on a chariot of fire. | Carros de fuego, Temas bíblicos, Historia de israel

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places” Ephesians 6:12.

In every major battle that great military leaders ever fought a big part of their strategy was to pick the place of battle. They sought the highest hill to give them an advantage over their adversaries. They knew the terrain in order to determine how best to outflank them. They knew the fields, the streams, the rivers, the mountain ranges that would give them the best vantage point of attack. They placed barriers where the enemy would have difficulty penetrating into their lines. They sent scouts ahead to relay back to them the strength of the enemy and where the enemy positions were in order to determine the best strategy for attack. They placed spies in the enemy camps to determine their military strategy and to create confusion if possible. Once this objective was accomplished a battle plan was formulated and set in motion.

The Prophetic Anointing exposes the enemy’s intentions and plans. In 2 Kings 6:8-20, the king of Aram was warring against Israel. Every time he set a trap for Israel in the battlefield, the prophet Elisha exposed it and relayed it to the king of Israel thus frustrating the plans of the king of Aram [v12]. The frustration of failure was so great that the Aramian king began to accuse his war counsel of being a spy for Israel. The Aramian generals told their king of the prophet Elisha and that God was giving him the plans so Israel would walk among them unharmed [v12]. The king of Aram commanded the generals to seek out Elisha and capture him [v13]. Seek out the prophet!

When heaven comes to earth it changes our situation…The armies of Armenia surrounded the town of Dothan where Elisha was staying the next morning. When Elisha’s servant went to the top of the watchtower he witnessed the armies of Armenia gathered around the city in order to capture Elisha. He ran to the prophet to proclaim their doom but Elisha asked God to open the attendant’s [spiritual] eyes that he may see the host of the Lord full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha [v18].

The chariots of fire protect the office of the prophet as described in 2 Kings 6 and they are assigned to protect every Christian in the same way. Consider the encouragement of Paul in Ephesians 6:13, “Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, stand firm.” This teaching and spiritual truth Paul describes to us is the completion of the work of the cross and the power of Pentecost [Acts 2].

Make the cross your battlefield. When the enemy engages us we must learn to bring the battle to the cross of Christ. Jesus has already walked the length and breadth of the battlefield. He has already engaged the enemy. He has set the battle plan in motion and knows the weaknesses of the enemy. When the arrows of accusation are shot in our direction, He points to the blood shed at the cross. When our temptations in life seek to destroy us, He points to the blood shed at the cross. When the enemy tells us we are in wrong standing with the Father, He points to the blood shed at the cross.

The three most powerful words in all of Christendom is found in the gospel of John 19:30, “It is finished!” Jesus paid the price. He has given us the victory! Set your battle plans and take your battle to the foot of the cross. You are surrounded by God’s chariots of fire.

Saints Beware! Pharisees walk among you.

In the Gospel of John 9, Jesus heals a man who was born blind. It is His way of revealing that He is the Light of the world, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life” John 8:12. This discourse was followed by that healing outside the temple gate. It was an exclamation point on His office as the Son of Man and the reason for which He came into the world.

As in every aspect of Christ’s ministry, the Pharisees were watching and seeking to trap Him. Their purpose was plain, to catch Him breaking the Law of Moses and to discredit the reason He came among them in the first place. In every instance of Christ’s performance of miracles, the Pharisees were at bay. They sought to preserve the old ways of Judaism. A time when they were in charge and anyone who wanted ministry had to come before them for acceptance and theological approval in the name of authority. Should anyone defy this, they faced persecution, accusation, and being put out of their temple and synagogues. They would be shunned under the Pharisees’ interpretation of the Law. In doing this, they denied the man was even blind [9:18] and began an investigation.

In v18-22, we find that the parents of the man were summoned before the Sanhedrin to answer for their son’s condition. In the questioning, the parents denied knowing who had opened their son’s eyes for fear they would be put out of the synagogue [v22]. They insisted the Pharisees question their son since he was of age. The Pharisees fixation was so focused on the determination of proving Jesus to be a fraud that they would go to any lengths to have their way even if it meant doing it in the name of Jehovah.

The man born blind who had now been healed began to tell them [v30-33] that if He were not from God He could not have healed him. So why do they ask where He came from? With this response they reviled him claiming him to be a sinner when they were the righteous ones [v34].

The prevailing attitude toward Christ in relation to the Pharisees was a constant barrage of attacks and challenges. They were trying to trap Him based on their own interpretation of the Law. They created an atmosphere of legality that was too heavy a burden for the Jewish people. Jesus came to set them free from that and give them Life in the Spirit. Jesus obeyed the instructions of the Law as set forth in the Torah and the Prophets. He did not necessarily adhere to the Scribes and Pharisees interpretation of it but rather He brought correction to those misguided interpretations. This is what caused the friction with the Jews.

It did not matter to them that men were being set free from their afflictions, it only mattered that the Sabbath Day in their thinking was being violated. This is the condition of the New Testament church today throughout America. We seek revival and clamor for His miracles questioning Him as to when. His answer is the same, “I am waiting for you.” The Pharisees stood as the watchmen of the Law of Moses. They would not open their eyes to anything that would bring about the Messianic move of God outside of their interpretation of it. Jesus did not fit their agenda or their theological understanding. They were so fixed on the Law that any blind eyes opened, raisings from the dead, lame cripples walking, or sick servants being healed, if performed on the Sabbath Day was a violation of the Law. In their minds the Messiah would not violate the Sabbath Day. What they hardened their hearts too, was that Jesus never broke the Sabbath Law. The hardness of their hearts because of their misguided understanding blinded their eyes to Jesus as the Messiah. Many churches are doing the same thing today to outside ministries! They reject the work of God in the traveling ministry because it does not fit their understanding of the work of God. They have set Pharisees with the title of watchmen among their brethren to keep watch and control their behavior by any means necessary. It usually comes in a rebuke and discrediting of the work that is being done. Quickly running to the leadership of the church that seeks to discredit those who are doing God’s legitimate work. Saints beware, the Pharisees walk among you!

Many churches today have blinded their eyes to the work of God in their regions. They are self-centered in their understanding of their church and their ministry “having a form of godliness although they denied its power” 2 Timothy 3:5.

In recent days, the Lord began to impress upon me the vision I had as follows:

The Lord showed me a well-finished dresser in His Father’s house. In that dresser was a white robe made of the finest linen in the kingdom.  The robe was for the occasion of service to the king and was to be worn for just those occasions. When it came time for the robe to be worn and presented before the king, the servant of the king went to the dresser to prepare the robe. And when he opened the drawer to his surprise moths flew out in different directions. On these moths were written the titles of Gal. 5:19-21; “sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, and carousings” Within those titles were sub-plots and sub-titles such as gossip, hatred, back-biting, controlling attitudes, disrespect, and murder, not only of reputations but of life. To the servant’s alarm, he picked up the garment and noticed that what was once a beautiful white linen robe was now tattered, eaten by the moths, having holes all throughout the material. He had nothing else to wear in having to present himself to the king. All he could do was to wear the tattered robe and come before the king in humility. When the king saw him coming, he said to him, “Did I not give you a well-finished dresser to keep the garment I entrusted to you in my Father’s house? Yet, you appear before me in a tattered cloth!” The servant was asked to give an account as to why the robe was tattered. He said to the king, “I am not aware of how this happened. I kept the cloth in a safe environment and only placed it on me for this special occasion.” The king asked him why he never checked the dresser to keep the condition of the garment safe and without disrepair. He asked him why he never let the laborers of the house maintain the condition of the garment or to check for any pestilence that might harm the condition of the cloth. He questioned him and said, “Did I not send these laborers to you to make sure the cloth remained in a fine condition? Yet, you refused to let them check the cloth and you refused to take their advice on how to keep the condition of that cloth in the finest of condition.” “They reported to me, said the king, that you also put them outside of the house claiming your method of conditioning was good enough to keep the integrity of the cloth. You also criticized and dishonored them believing them to be against you in their understanding about maintaining the integrity of the fabric.” The king continued, “Are you aware that today I was giving your house the highest honor in my kingdom but now how am I to present you in this condition? Therefore, I am giving this honor to another.” Go from me said the king and purchase new linen and make for yourself a new robe cleansing your dresser of all pestilence lest this happen again. Then come and present yourself to me.

The Pharisees wear tattered cloths believing them to be robes of righteousness, but they are filled with every form of evil and in that they have deceived themselves into believing something they should be, but are not. Saints beware, the Pharisees walk among you!

Always in Him,

Dr. Steve Rocco.

The Power of Galatians 6:1

“Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.” Galatians 6:1

The intention of the Apostle Paul in the Galatians 6:1 text is to admonish the church about the seriousness of God’s attribute of mercy and grace by extending forgiveness to those who are caught in sin. The inability to forgive is the temptation Paul is referring to in this passage. The blood of Jesus Christ, His work on the cross, and His sealed promise of the Holy Spirit is remedy for the forgiveness of sins. It is not the forgiveness of SOME sins, it is not the forgiveness of A FEW sins, but it is the forgiveness of ALL sins no matter what has been done. The church must learn to forgive.

The leaders of the church can hardly afford to set aside the gospel of Christ, even for a moment, by justifying their lack of forgiveness because of a political cause. The Principle of Solidarity is very much a part of God’s doctrine; as goes the head so goes the body. If leaders are going to take up what they believe to be a righteous cause they need to know full well what are the doctrines, motivations, and intentions of that cause. Once you have signed on to it. In God’s eyes, you own it!

The Principle of Solidarity: In Joshua 7, the men of Israel are defeated at Ai. Joshua inquires of the Lord about the defeat. The Lord tells him there is sin in the camp of Israel which caused their defeat. In order to weed out the sin, Joshua orders the drawing of lots from tribe to tribe as commanded by the Lord. The lots uncover Achan from the tribe of Judah disobeyed the Lord and held onto things under God’s ban from Jericho. His disobedience caused all of Israel to have to pay a price; the death of 3,000 men in battle to Ai. The Lord commanded the death of those who committed sin in order to cleanse the nation of being a part of any wrongdoing. When Joshua discovered that Achan had sinned the scripture says, “It shall be done that the one who is taken with the things under the ban shall be burned with fire, he and all that belongs to him, because he has transgressed the covenant of the Lord…” Joshua 7:15. So in accordance with the command of the Lord Achan was put to death; he and his whole family. “Then Joshua and all Israel with him, took Achan, the silver, the mantle, the gold, and his sons, his daughters, his oxen, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent and all that belonged to him” [7:24]. And there in the valley of Achor they stoned him and burned him with fire. Achan’s sin caused the death of his family and the contraband he hid for himself. As goes the head, so goes the body. When leaders sin the whole body shares in the consequences of that sin. Why the contraband? They became tainted due to Achan’s sin. Your gifts are God’s property and not your own. When you use them to support evil they must be burned to weed out the sin that tainted them.

Several things occurred that play a significant role in this judgment: (1) Achan broke covenant with God [7:15]. (2) He disgraced the nation [7:15] (3) God ordered the destruction of the contraband [7:24] (4) His family was stoned and set on fire [7:25].

As the leader of his household by willfully disobeying God he placed his whole family in jeopardy. When leaders sign on to a political or worldly event they are not only attaching their name to it but the name of the church they are in, the family they belong to, and any contraband used for the cause [in most cases their gift of oration and prayer]. If you as a leader are signing on to a political cause that is openly causing violence and destruction in America you are in violation of God’s covenant, you are in violation of your office to the church, your gifts are in jeopardy of being dissolved, and the metaphorical stoning and fire will be a spiritual let down to you.

Why I am expounding on this? Many pastors, ministers, and church leaders have tried to justify the recent violence and activities in the streets of America by allowing their empathetic hearts to dictate over the teaching of Galatians 6:1: WE MUST FORGIVE! They have defended the recent activities by declaring, “We have hurting brothers and sisters.” And no doubt, we do. However, they are all too silent on the home front when violence breaks out or is, in fact, encouraged! I’ve seen videos of a two year old little girl being beaten up by three children ganging up on her and having been encouraged by an adult video taping the event. I have seen videos on an elderly woman with a walker being blocked from crossing the street by three thugs in the recent street violence. I have seen a girl on a subway train being brutally beaten by four boys for no reason than the fact that the color of her skin was not like theirs. I have seen a woman hit in the back of the head with a two by four trying to defend her business while five other men kicked and punched her. There have been shootings, killings, burnings and a tremendous amount of destruction to private property by a political group that many pastors are attaching their names to for the cause. When you attach your name to the organization, you own the violence that goes with it!

We must teach forgiveness. The forgiveness factor in Galatians 6:1 has the power to change people’s lives for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the heart of God to extend forgiveness. The pastors and church leaders must speak out and call for a calming of tempers and a disbanding of the violence and destruction. The church has this window of opportunity to lead others to the saving arms of Christ by preaching forgiveness. It does not matter what the injustices of the past were, it does not matter what the injustices of today are, it does not matter what the injustices of tomorrow will be. Jesus paid for those injustices on the cross! As much as all of that hurts and takes its affect on each of us, the truth is Jesus paid the ultimate price for these sins. His death on the cross gives us the victory over the past, present, and future evils of this world. Come Lord Jesus come!
