The Realm of the Supernatural

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” Ephesians 1:3.

We are a supernatural people! The Apostle Peter describes us as ‘Living Stones.’ “…You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” [1 Peter 2:5]. In every epistle written in the Bible the Apostles describe the church in spiritual terms. They speak to the church through spiritual eyes and render an understanding of what it is to have a spiritual walk. Even as Christ walked the earth as full man, He was always fully God. His appearance was in the natural but His true self had greater implications. He was a king not of this world.

There are two dimensions to the existence of man; one is of the flesh which is dead to our trespasses and the other is the spirit of man come alive because of the work of the cross and the sealed promise of the Holy Spirit. As Christians, our calling is in the spirit world. A world of supernatural elements and dimensions. The Apostle Paul goes into detail in Romans 6, 7, and 8 about our dual nature. The catalyst of these two dimensions is the presence of free will. God leaves it to us where we choose to dwell. The writer of Hebrews calls it the difference between Mt. Sinai and Mt. Zion. The Apostle Peter explains it this way: “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in your behavior, because it is written, “You shall be Holy, for I AM Holy” [1 Peter 1:14-16].

The Apostle’s explanation of being holy is a decision. Therefore, we must come to know that our walking in the realm of the supernatural is a decision. How is the supernatural among us today and not ONLY in the kingdom to come [End Times]?

We walk in heavenly places-In Ephesians 2:6 Paul proclaims truth of our life: “When we were dead in our transgressions, [he] made us alive together in Christ [by grace you have been saved], and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” This is a heaven/earth connection. Our eternal life began in the life of Christ. In knowing this, it is our place to walk as a supernatural people.

The Prophetic Ministry draws us in-In Deuteronomy 18:18 the Lord spoke to Moses about how He would speak to His people: “I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.” The Lord speaks to us in supernatural terms, and He does it through His prophets. The Holy Spirit of all creation falls upon the prophet and brings a word from the Father that is filled with anointing and glory stemming from the throne of Christ. Supernatural power!

We have Legal Authority-The cross of Jesus Christ, the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, the empty tomb, and the sealing of the covenant promise by the Holy Spirit have given us the right to enter into the Promised Land. This is a supernatural event and gives us an eternal inheritance. “…He gave [us] the right to become sons of God, to those who believe in His name…” [John 1:12]. Being a child of the king gives you rights that cannot be taken from you. We were exiled from God because of Adam but we are now restored because of Christ.

Eternal Eyesight-God has given us the ability to be seers in the realm of the supernatural. Our insight is founded in prayer and supplication. It builds upon the foundation of spiritual gifts offered to us in 1 Corinthians 12 and Ephesians 4:11. Supernatural eyesight is the function of the prophetic office, but insight is given to all believers stemming from an unction in the Spirit. This aspect of the kingdom of God is given to the church because it binds us to the fulfillment of the Abrahamic covenant [God is birthing descendants of Abraham] and establishes the Everlasting covenant through Christ Jesus Our Lord.

We have a Divine Partnership-In Galatians 2:20 the Apostle Paul tells us that we have been crucified with Christ, and we no longer live. It is Jesus who lives in us. In knowing this, it makes us partners with Christ in a greater purpose and greater glory. As He lives and moves so we live and move. Our life has become a place of divine ordination, and no one can take it from us. “And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise” [Gal. 3:19].
