Prophetic Destiny Partners

Heaven/Earth Connections in Covenant Relationship

When studying destiny partnerships that encompass a covenant relationship, I am drawn to David and Jonathan. In 1 Samuel 20:15-16, “You shall not cut off your lovingkindness from my house forever, not even when the Lord cuts off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth. So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, “May the Lord require it at the hands of David’s enemies.”

The Eagle and the Ox. Earlier we read of Jonathan’s commitment to David in 1 Samuel 18:1 & 3, “…the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as himself. Then Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself.” This is an Ox and Eagle anointing. The ox accesses the might of the Lord in all its character, unction’s, and dispositions. The Eagle is a predator with sight. As the Eagle flies above seeing for miles the condition of the landscape, it uses the might of the ox who is yoked to till the soil and churn up fallow ground causing unwanted vermin who have burrowed in the land which is being tilled for planting to be sown and reap a harvest, to rise to the surface seeking refuge from the tilled soil. The eagle then swoops down to feed on the vermin and clear the field of any unwanted predators who would steal the harvest. The eagle preying upon the rodents in the field who have been unearthed by the ox tilling the ground assure the Sower of a good harvest.

Jonathan’s covenant promise to David is as the eagle/ox relationship. Each has purpose and each are committed to their work in assuring one other’s success. God gives us opportunities to have these type of covenant relationships with one another. It is not always that we take full advantage of such a blessing. Most Christians today are satisfied with the fellowship of familiar friends that never enter into heaven/earth connections with the greater things of God. Why familiar? Because they are comfortable in the presence of these friends and are never challenged to operate in a place of ministry that may require stepping outside their comfort zone. I am reminded of the Apostles Peter and John and their relationship during the years they walked with Christ. After the Ascencion of Jesus Peter was called to Rome and John ministered in Asia Minor. Being close friends in the calling of Christ they were nonetheless given very different fields of ministry. Too many Christians today would rather stay in the proximity of their ministry friends and not consider that the Holy Spirit may be commanding them to venture into new fields to toil, sow, and harvest. When this happens, we can never reach the full potential of God’s calling on our lives, the gifts will be inhibited, and our spiritual insight could be tainted without actually seeing into the deeper things of God.

The Apostolic and the Prophetic partnership. When we are involved in an apostolic ministry and there is no presence of a prophetic office the ministry will manifest an abundance of labor filled with friction- a deficiency of oil exists. The prophetic revelation in an apostolic ministry brings the oil of anointing creating a well-oiled mechanism of vision. If there is a prophetic office only and an absence of the Apostolic it leaves the ministry with a vivid blueprint creating unstable people in the work that God has assigned to the ministry. The Lord purposely sets Apostolic and Prophetic destiny partnerships giving birth to a great evangelical work and abundant harvest. An activation of believers with a ministry of miracles, signs, and wonders follows this destiny partnering.

Presently, too many Christians are attached to either an Apostle or a prophet. Some are just sitting in an office of evangelist and teacher leadership. There is no sign of an apostolic/prophetic anointing because the pastor has accepted theological teaching that the office of Apostle and Prophet no longer exists. This is a false teaching! The Scripture is clear on the roles of the five-fold ministry and its work in the field of ministry [Eph. 4:11].

The Apostolic mantle and the Prophetic Office. The Apostle’s office brings a clear vision critical in fulfilling God’s direction and perfect will. A mentoring, a sending out, and raising up of ministerial attributes all follow the Apostolic office. It is a patriarchal anointing that fulfills the Matthew 28:19 commandment of preaching, baptizing, and sending forth into the nations. Prophets boldly speak the vision and impart anointing. They clarify given heaven-sent assignments and purposes for their assigned spiritual territory. When there is clear prophetic insight and direction the momentum is unstoppable. Prophetic insight is an invaluable tool to emerging apostles and established apostles.

The purpose of the enemy. The enemy hates apostolic and prophetic destiny partnerships. The covenant made between these offices is an unbreakable bond that promotes the kingdom of Heaven on earth and stirs the atmosphere in the Kingdom of God to build greatness in God’s kingdom. The enemy raises up a witchcraft spirit to divide apostles and prophets because of their different perspectives about the kingdom. Even though the offices of apostle and prophet have different roles their goals are the same; lift up the name of Jesus and draw all men unto Him.

Destiny Partners in the kingdom of God. Destiny partners make the difference in reaching your maximum potential in the life of Christ and His work assigned to you. Ask God to place you in the realm of destiny partnerships leaving familiar friendships behind in order that the will of God for your life may reach its fullest potential. Outgrowing relationships is a common thing in God’s kingdom. Do not get settled into mediocrity. Be a sojourner for God’s kingdom with destiny partners at your side in the work of the ministry.
